Douglas County CARES Act Grant Program
Support for local nonprofits.
Douglas County partnered with the Omaha Community Foundation to distribute $20 million of CARES Act funding to local nonprofit organizations.
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners allocated $10 million of that for arts, culture, and entertainment organizations and $10 million for nonprofits who provide direct services to the community.

Funding for this stimulus grant program came from $166 million in federal Coronavirus Relief Funds awarded to Douglas County as part of the federal CARES Act. Douglas County contracted with the Omaha Community Foundation to assist in developing and administering the program on behalf of the county, consistent with federal and state requirements.
