A Supporting Organization provides your family with many benefits of a private family foundation, with the additional support of our giving expertise and administrative services. It allows you to:
Involve multiple generations in giving, now or as your successors.
Work in partnership with the Omaha Community Foundation staff to determine the members of your organization’s board. OCF is required by law to appoint a majority of directors to serve on Supporting Organization boards. We are committed to working closely with you to ensure your comfort with all directors.
Convert appreciated property such as publicly traded securities, closely held stock, real estate, and more, into charitable cash without the burden of capital gains.
Adjust your contributions based on year-end plans, market conditions, or other personal considerations.
Provide support to the charities you and your family care about now or through your estate.
Consolidate charitable record keeping.
Receive full credit for grants made from the Supporting Organization or issue grants anonymously.
